By the end of the workshop participants will have accomplished this:
- Brainstormed their ideas in a group and picked the best one
- Implemented a prototype, using free web-tools and basic coding
- Validated the prototype with friends, family and others and tracked results
- Presented the idea and results to a mock investor panel
Participants will have learned that:
- Nothing should hold you back
- Ideas are easy to realize, lots of free online tools will help you along
- Anyone can learn basic coding skills
- You don’t need to incorporate, invest money, hire coders or designers
- Team-diversity makes you stronger
- No one has all the ideas and skills in their head at the start.
- A diverse team will help you refine your idea and implement faster
- Trying out your ideas should be fun. If it isn’t, rethink the idea.
- Release early, update often, get immediate feedback
- Your time has a value, track results before spending more time
